Are you currently accepting new couples counseling clients?

Most of our counselors are accepting new clients. To request an appointment fill out our intake form here.

What insurance plans do you accept?

Because of the nature of the work we do at the Relationship Institute our services offered are not billable to insurance and are considered private pay services.

What is the difference between the retreat and the workshop? 

 

 The main difference is that the workshop is condensed and focused on providing information while the retreat has more space to process ideas and  practice concepts as a couple.

Where are the couples retreats held and is there lodging?

 

Our retreats are held in Chelsea, MI - 20 minutes from Ann Arbor and 60 minutes from Detroit. We do not have lodging on site, but there are several hotels in the area!

How many couples attend and is this a group or private setting?

 

The retreat usually has 4-7 couples. Our retreat is group psychoeducation. It is not individual counseling. Information that is personal is kept private.

06.

Are meals provided at the retreat or workshop?

At the retreat we provide snacks on Friday evening, a light breakfast, and lunch. At the workshop we provide lunch.

07.

What happens if I need to cancel a retreat or workshop?

Our retreat/workshops are non-refundable, but we understand life happens. You can transfer to a different date if needed.

Are your retreats/workshops for married couples only?

 

 No! Any partners, married or not. Most of the language used is about partners and
not marriage.

09.

Will I be asked to share about my relationship in a group setting?

 

Don't worry - you will not be asked to share intimate details of your relationship with the group.

10.

What are the hours of the retreat or workshops?

The one day workshops are 9-3pm. The two day retreats are 7-9pm Friday night and 9-1:30pm Saturday.
